What services are included in tune-up & repair?
Bell Lap Cycleworks is a full-service bicycle shop in Raleigh, NC. Whether your bike needs a seasonal tune-up, a single repair, or a ground-up custom build, we handle it all at our two North Raleigh locations. Every job is done by experienced mechanics who ride — we know what a properly sorted bike feels like because we depend on ours every day.

How much does a bike tune-up cost?
A tune-up is the single best thing you can do for a bike that’s been sitting, riding rough, or just due for maintenance. We offer three tiers — each one builds on the last, so you can match the service to what your bike actually needs.
- Basic Tune-Up — $95: Shifting and brake adjustments, safety check, tire inflation, and a wipe-down. The essentials for a bike that’s riding okay but could be sharper.
- Standard Tune-Up — $175: Everything in Basic plus drivetrain cleaning and degreasing, cable and housing inspection, wheel truing, and a more thorough going-over. This is our most popular service — it covers the things that actually wear out with regular riding.
- Overhaul Tune-Up — $275: Full teardown to the frame, deep clean every component, service all bearings (headset, bottom bracket, hubs), replace cables and housing, reassemble and adjust everything from scratch. Your bike comes back riding like new.

How much does brake repair cost?
Brakes are the one thing on your bike that absolutely has to work right. Whether you’re running rim brakes, mechanical disc, or hydraulics, we handle everything from a simple pad swap to a full hydraulic bleed.

- Custom Bike Build — $275: Ground-up build from frame and components you choose. Full assembly with a detailed quality control checklist.
- Bike Assembly (from box) — $75: Professional assembly of a new bike shipped to you. We build it right so you don’t inherit a box-store assembly job.
- Race Bike Cleaning — $75: Post-race or post-event deep clean — drivetrain degreased, frame washed, everything inspected and lubed.
- Chain Waxing — Initial (Silca) — $75: Full strip and hot wax treatment for a cleaner, quieter, longer-lasting drivetrain.
- Chain Waxing — Interim — $30: Refresh wax application for chains already on the system.

We’re a mechanic-owned shop with over 15 years of combined experience, and we work on everything from entry-level commuters to high-end race bikes. We’re located at 6300 Creedmoor Rd #138, Raleigh, NC 27612 and 8480 Honeycutt Rd #126, Raleigh, NC 27615 (Lafayette Village). Creedmoor Road is open Monday–Friday 10 AM–6 PM; Lafayette Village is open Tuesday–Saturday 10 AM–6 PM.
