Indoor Trainer / Peloton Fitting
Peloton Bike Fitting in Raleigh — Get Your Indoor Setup Right
If you’re riding a Peloton, Zwift setup, Wahoo KICKR, or any indoor smart trainer, your bike fit matters just as much as it does on the road. Bell Lap Cycleworks offers professional indoor trainer fitting in Raleigh so you can ride harder, longer, and without the aches and pains that send most people searching for answers online.
Here’s the thing most people don’t realize: the fit principles for an indoor bike are the same as an outdoor bike. Saddle height, fore-aft position, handlebar reach, cleat alignment — it all applies. But because indoor bikes lock you into a fixed position with no road feel to shift around on, a bad fit shows up faster and hurts more. That’s where we come in.
Common Issues We Fix
We hear the same stories every week from indoor riders dealing with fit problems they can’t solve on their own:
- Knee pain from Peloton — usually caused by incorrect saddle height or cleat position. This is the number one complaint we see from Peloton riders.
- Numbness in hands or feet — often a handlebar reach or cleat angle issue that builds up over 30-45 minute sessions.
- Lower back pain from indoor riding — typically a saddle-to-handlebar drop problem. Your indoor position needs to account for the fact that you’re not shifting your weight like you do outdoors.
- Hip discomfort or rocking — saddle height or saddle choice that doesn’t match your sit bone width.
- Can’t ride longer than 30 minutes comfortably — almost always a combination of small fit issues that add up.
Sound familiar? These aren’t problems you need to live with. A proper fitting session usually resolves them in a single visit.
What to Expect During Your Fitting
We’ll work with your specific trainer and setup — whether that’s a Peloton Bike or Bike+, a Wahoo KICKR with your road bike, a Zwift setup on rollers, or any other smart trainer. Bring your bike or give us the details on your equipment, and we’ll adjust everything to match your body.
During the session, we look at your saddle height, fore-aft positioning, handlebar reach and height, and cleat alignment if you’re using clipless pedals. We use the same fitting approach and 15+ years of experience that we bring to our comprehensive outdoor bike fittings — just applied to your indoor setup.
