North Raleigh’s mechanic-owned bike shop
Sales, repair, fitting, and custom builds. Done by people who actually ride. Two locations in North Raleigh — Creedmoor Road and Lafayette Village.

Mechanic-Owned. Rider-Run.
Bell Lap Cycleworks opened in 2022 with a simple idea: build the kind of bike shop we’d want to walk into. No corporate sales scripts. No pressure to buy parts you don’t need. Just straight talk from people who actually ride and wrench on bikes every day.
Bell Lap was founded by Josh, with Hugo coming on board for the first store opening. Michael joined a few years later, and then Courtney came on board as our shop manager when we opened our second location. We’ve built a team with 20+ years of combined experience in the Raleigh cycling scene.
Josh is our lead bike fitter, and our mechanics handle everything from basic tune-ups to ground-up custom builds. Between our Creedmoor Road shop and our new Lafayette Village location, we’re making it easier for North Raleigh riders to get the service they deserve.
We’re authorized dealers for Specialized, Bianchi, TIME, Niner, and State Bicycle, brands we ride and believe in. And we back every service with honest pricing you can see upfront, not a “call for a quote” runaround.

What We Can Help With
From a quick tune-up before your weekend ride to a full professional bike fitting, we handle it all in-house. Here’s what we do best at our North Raleigh bike shop.
Here’s What Sets Us Apart
There are plenty of bike shops in Raleigh. Here’s why riders keep coming back to Bell Lap.
Professional Bike Fitting
Josh is IBFI-certified and uses saddle pressure mapping to get your position dialed. No guesswork, no quick tape-measure sizing. Whether you’re dealing with knee pain, numb hands, or you just can’t get comfortable, our fitting process finds the fix.
Mechanic-Owned, Not Corporate
When you walk in, you’re talking to people who ride and wrench on bikes every day. We’re a mechanic-owned shop, not a big box retailer, and everyone on our team knows their way around a repair stand. We take your bike as seriously as we take our own.
Transparent Pricing
Every service we offer has a price listed on our website. No surprises, no “it depends” phone calls. A basic tune-up is $95, a standard is $175, and an overhaul is $275. Simple. You’ll know what you’re paying before we touch a wrench.
Same-Week Service
We know you don’t want to wait two weeks for a derailleur adjustment. Most repairs and tune-ups are done within a few days. Give us a call and we’ll let you know exactly when your bike will be ready.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions we hear most often at the shop.
How much does a bike tune-up cost?
We offer three tune-up tiers. A Basic Tune-Up is $95 and covers a safety check with brake and derailleur adjustments. Our Standard Tune-Up is $175 and includes a full drivetrain cleaning, cable inspection, and wheel truing. The Overhaul is $275 for a complete teardown, cleaning, and rebuild. All prices are labor only, and parts are quoted separately if needed.
Where is Bell Lap Cycleworks located?
We have two locations in North Raleigh. Our original shop is at 6300 Creedmoor Rd #138, and our second location is at Lafayette Village, 8480 Honeycutt Rd #126. Both are easy to get to from anywhere in the Triangle area.
What bike brands do you sell?
We’re authorized dealers for Specialized, Bianchi, TIME, Niner, and State Bicycle Co. These are brands we ride ourselves and stand behind. If you’re looking for something specific, give us a call and we can usually get it ordered.
Do you offer professional bike fitting?
Yes. Our bike fitting services are IBFI-certified and use saddle pressure mapping to get your position right. We offer comprehensive fits, pre-purchase consultations, cleat adjustments, indoor trainer fittings, and standalone saddle pressure mapping sessions. If you’re uncomfortable on your bike or shopping for a new one, a fit is the best place to start.
How long does a bike repair take?
Most repairs and tune-ups are finished within a few days. Simple jobs like a brake adjustment or flat repair can often be done while you wait. Call Creedmoor at (919) 417-1102 or Lafayette at (919) 272-9731 and we’ll give you an honest timeframe before you bring the bike in.
Do you work on all bike types?
We work on road bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids, and commuters. If it has two wheels and pedals, we can help. We also do custom bike builds from the frame up if you want something built to your exact specs.
